The design concept utilized an adaptive re-use of two wings of an existing Yellow Freight trucking terminal. Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) required space included: showroom, sales department, general offices, employee facilities, parts department, service reception, service drive lanes and service department. In addition to the required spaces determined by MBUSA, an extended showroom, wash & reconditioning center was included and set a precedent for future MBUSA design considerations. The Mercedes-Benz facility needed to portray (as per client’s request) the ‘most elegant and unique’ car dealership on an already congested road with several other dealerships in close proximity.
